Christian Bale, who plays Batman/Bruce Wayne in the summer blockbuster The Dark Knight, was arrested today on suspicion of assault.
Allegedly, Bale's mother and sister alleged Monday, in a police station in southern England, that the actor assaulted them at the Dorchester Hotel Saturday night, before the European premier of The Dark Knight.
The Sun newspaper has alleged that questioning of the actor did not take place earlier so as not to disrupt the premiere of the film.
The Dark Knight took in a record-breaking $158.4 million over the weekend.
