The Dark Knight Breaks Yet Another Box Office Record

Well the unstoppable cinematic machine that is The Dark Knight has broken yet another box office record. Having already broken the midnight, single day, and opening weekend records, The Dark Knight has now grossed over S300 million in just 10 days.

At this rate it seems that even after factoring in inflation, The Dark Knight could very well knock out Burton's 1989 Batman to become the highest grossing Batman film of all time. The notion that any Batman film could ever top the success of '89 Batman was for some time now unthinkable. Even Batman Forever and Batman Begins, both films that breathed new life into the Batman movie franchise, failed to match the finical success of the '89 Batman.

Yet in the last few months we have a seen a force on par with the '89 Batmania, perhaps even stronger then it. The mania surrounding The Dark Knight has been unbelievable and the fact that the movie itself lived up to all the hype has allowed for the ideal conditions to make history. With The Dark Knight's theatrical run being far from over I have little doubt that history will be made, we will see The Dark Knight rise to be the highest grossing Batman movie of all time.
